Getting started
Making a video visit feel like a real appointment
Privacy, connection, and the small setup choices that make telehealth work.

Telehealth works well for psychiatric care — the visit is a conversation, and conversations translate. A few things make it better.
Find a space where you won't be overheard. A parked car counts. If someone else is home, headphones help more than a closed door.
Test the link a few minutes early rather than at the appointment time, and keep your phone nearby as a backup if the connection drops.
Have your medication bottles within reach. Reading the label beats remembering the dose.
And treat it like an appointment, not a call you take while doing something else. The visit is worth your full attention.
